Robert H. Lillard, Jr, MD


A native of Tennessee, Dr. Robert H. Lillard, Jr received his bachelor’s degree (cum laude) from Rhodes College in 1989 and his medical degree (cum laude) from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1993. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama, and spent an additional year there as Chief Resident.  He began private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah before returning to Nashville in 1999.

After seven years in private practice, Dr. Lillard joined The Children’s Clinic of Nashville  in 2004. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Monroe Carrel, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and as President of The Cumberland Pediatric Foundation. He currently serves as the medical director for the Cumberland Pediatric Foundation. Dr. Lillard is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society.

Dr. Lillard has special interests in allergies and asthma.  He also provides travel medicine consults for clinic patients. Dr. Lillard lives in Franklin with his wife of 25 years and his two children, ages 19 and 14. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, running and watching SEC football (Roll Tide!).
